Hormone Testing

Our nurse practitioners have received special training in hormone testing, interpretation, and therapy. We coordinate symptoms with blood hormone testing to create a hormone regimen specific for you. We utilize both traditional and alternative approaches to effectively manage your symptoms and create a program you are comfortable with.

Many conditions and symptoms are a result of hormone imbalance. Some of these conditions include menopause, perimenopause, premenstrual syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and irregular bleeding.

Symptoms of hormone imbalance include:

  • Hot flashes/night sweats
  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Depression
  • Moodiness/ irritability
  • Insomnia
  • Loss of sex drive
  • Breast Tenderness
  • Joint and muscle pain/aches

Typically, patients come in for an evaluation of symptoms and a review of medical and family history. Blood tests are drawn at our in-house lab. Hormones commonly tested include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and thyroid hormones.

When results are available, you will meet with your provider to discuss a treatment plan based on your unique situation. Some treatments may include hormone supplements and dietary and herbal supplements, along with lifestyle modifications such as diet, exercise, and stress management recommendations.
